We will journey and Explore how it is some Artists move forwards in their Art Creating, to Create Art Works which are, Unique and Original in Every Attempt. I will be attempting a Mixed Media and A Mixed Media Collage, Art Creation which is my Unique Art Style. You be the judge, if my work appears Unique and Original to Me?…

In the, Episode 6 of the Art Bound Podcast, Suchitra Mattai and Taylor White, two Conceptual Artists, have both changed the way they use Art Materials, In order to change the Traditional Artist label. They have Changed the boundaries, as to what IS Art, and in their Art Creative Method, have altered Their, Freedom of ART Expression.

What advice would you give to artists who want to break free of Creative limitations and Experiment in Unexpected ways?

In Answer, as an Artist, taking advice is tricky. Sometimes you are defined in Creative limitations, before you make your first mark. For Art creating to be Interesting and rewarding, Art work, it is Very necessary to try Something new. You do this by looking into how other Artists Art create, and you Find interesting ways, to try Different methods in your Art Work. This could Lead you, as the Artist into a Newer and Unique Art, Inspired, Art Creations…

Here are 24 ideas on how Artists break out of A Creative Rut. One method is, by shaking Art Materials Up, in order to reach the Next level of Their Artistic Art Freedom. • Always Be Learning–Take a workshop from an Artist whose work is different from yours,- Sandy W. Ask other Artists about their processes, learn something New, practice your Art skills. You’ll be surprised how many Artists, are willing to Share their creative flows with you.- Rachel S
• Switch It Up–It’s an experiment only if You have never done it, You cannot experiment with the familiar.- Bob C Forget who you are. Step outside your Boundaries and set yourself Art free. I switched from Oils to watercolour and from detailed Realism to Big bold brush strokes and Abstracts. When I go back to Oils, I can do it with a Fresh approach.- Cindy R. 7 Studio Session Jump-Starts

Feeling uninspired? Do not know where to begin? Need a Nudge to get back to the Easel? Try these Seven ideas to Power up your Creativity.

• Jean Grastorf says, a change can be Productive and Beneficial. If you Paint large, paint small. If you Paint transparent, mix things up with opacity. Or if you paint realistically, try Working abstractly. If you Work with abstract concepts, try Painting your surroundings. If you Paint landscapes, try a Self-portrait. Be Open to Change, and be Confident that the bucket of Creativity is there. It just needs a little time to get it all Moving Again.

If the Art Creativity has gone missing from your Art Studio, try Welcoming it back with the folllowing points, used by Grastorf, and the Other Painter and Instructors, Like Mike Bailey and Antonio Masi.

• Find Inspiration among your Art Materials–Art materials are Beautifully Inspirational, so keep them out during your Studio session.
• Change your Subject and palette–Grastorf says Paint a series. Use the Same technique, change the Palette of Colors and the Subject. The result will be Totally different.
• Go back to Move forward–Older, Unresolved paintings can trigger New Inspiration and Ideas. Revisiting, them eliminates the Fear of a Blank sheet of paper, and the Physical acts of drawing and painting, Light up the Creative areas of the brain.
• Antonio Masi Keeps His Creativity By, Gesso-ing–When I have not painted for some time, I use two Gesso Techniques. Build a Smooth gesso foundation, I usually have an Idea of what to paint, in my Studio. I take a can of gesso, a palette knife and some Old brushes, I apply a Thick layer of gesso onto a Sheet of 300-lb. paper. I let the gesso harden completely, which results in a Reflective surface, and Brilliant paint Colors can Be added. Add Texture using gesso. Sometimes I Create peaks and Valleys while the gesso is still Moist on the paper. By pressing an Object into the gesso, then removing the Item and letting the gesso dry. Channels for Rivers of paint are ready, to flow through, Producing, amazing results.
• Lift to Add–Lifting – Removing paint with a brush, paper towel or tissue – is a Subtractive process, and one I employ, to Start a Watercolor painting quickly. I apply Diluted gesso on a 300-lb. Sheet of paper and let it dry. Using a Large brush, I apply an overall Dominant color and Let it dry. Next, I add the darks. Using a Stiff brush in Various sizes dipped in clean water, I begin creating the light areas. Which I then Scrub and blot with a paper towel. I continue until I have Achieved the desired whiteness, almost Back to the white of the Untouched surface. When the paint is dry, I add the Final touches of color.
• Mike Bailey Pushes His Artistic Boundaries–Challenge yourself , to push your Art creative boundaries. Set up a Still Life and make a Series of 20 Paintings, without Varying or changing the Composition or point of view. Focus on just One of the Seven elements of design– Line, size, shape, space, color, texture and value, in each of the Paintings. For example? how many ways can A line be used in a Single painting? How does a warm color palette Impact the setup? What about a Cool palette? What happens if you Merge or distort the shapes? The goal was always to Explore, What would Happen If?…From this came many Realizations and discoveries.
• In doing So–By Manipulating the various Elements of design, I found I could create different Emotions or moods. That textures could make a Non-objective painting extraordinary, that a Line could be used in Plethora of ways to Enliven a design, that colors in Various contexts made or ruined a Painting, and so Many more, Ideas… ( Article, Art inspiration, Watercolor. Art Network 2021 ).

The Following Painting is My Unique Attempt at Mixed Media, Art Creating. I drew the Picture of the Girl, from a Free Photo stock photo, in my Unique Style. Then I used Acrylic Paints to mix colors to Paint over the Drawing. When dry, I used Watercolors, Acrylic paints, Gel pens and Fine marker, to Complete the Painting. I think the Effect in this Painting is Different and Original, to the work I have Art Created, Previously…

Inspiring Mixed Media

Art is a highly Multifarious range of Visual or performed works that Express the Art creators ideas or skills and Appeal to the Viewers, Senses or emotions. Art can be created with anything, and Not necessarily any one thing. When different Media or materials are used to Art create Unique visual art, it is called Mixed Media Art.

The use of Mixed media began, around 1912 when Cubists, like Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, started adding Collages to their canvases. Gradually the Art form became Widespread as Artists developed, increasingly Open attitudes to the Media of art. Surrealists, Abstract Expressionists, Pop Artists, and Brit Artists, jumped onto the Mixed media bandwagon, and Expanded the Art vocabulary.

How to Start Mixed Media Art?

Mixed Media Artists work with a Variety of media in a Single artwork. To get started with Mixed media art, begin by Looking at things around you. You need a Sturdy material, which can Act as a base like a Paper, sketchbook, a box, or any such object, you have Access to. Begin working with Media, that you are already Familiar with. If you Work with watercolors, you can, add Highlights with colored pencils or markers. You can Create collages by rearranging, Elements in your work using Paper, canvas or woodblocks.

In the Painting that Follows below, my Attempt at Mixed Media Collage, was from a Free Photo stock photo of a Landscape Scenery in Canada. I drew the picture in my Free style, Unique way. I cut out shapes of stars, moons, and rocks, for the collage part of this painting, preparation. I then glued the shapes on blank Watercolor paper. I then drew the Picture, of the Landscape and the Deer. Then I made an Acrylic wash, to paint over the Area. When dry, I used Watercolors, Acrylics, and Later Fine marker to Complete the Mixed Media Collage, Painting.

This painting is My Unique and Original Contribution to this Art Creation, it gave Me great pleasure to Create this painting. When initially Starting the painting it was difficult to work out, what I needed to do. As I worked at Looking and Mixing Colours, the Tempo sped up, and before I knew it, I had this Painting.

Artists who work in the field of Mixed media, and get recognized can come from a Variety of backgrounds. They can have Formal training in Fine arts, or have Experience in the craft.
