Mother’s Day and My Art Creations To…

In this Blog, Mother’s Day, we think deeply and wonder what the Word, Mother actually Means to us all, as People and as Human Beings, in the whole of the world? Mother’s Day makes us wonder as young children, and as we get older and travel through time and life, how we are affected by our Mothers?… When our Mothers are no longer present, how do we feel on Mother’s Day?  Wow, if you think, Mother, how amazing, is that one word? In my  Art Creations for Mother’s Day, I have made a Card for My Mother–in Remembrance, and the next Card, is one of the first cards, which was originally Handmade, by a Son, to his Mother on Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day–is the celebration that Honours the Mother of The Family, it also Celebrates Motherhood and the Maternal Bonds, and also the great influence Mothers have in Society. In the world Mother’s day is Celebrated, most in the months of March or May.

The Modern Mother’s Day began in the United States, with the initiative of Ann Reeves Javis in the early 20th Century. Throughout History many Traditional Celebrations of Mother’s Day and Motherhood have existed in the world.  For thousands of years, in the Greek Culture–to Cybele, the Roman Festival of Hilaria, And in the Christian Faith–THE, Mothering Sunday, that Commemorates the Mother of the Church, Our Most Holy Pure, BLESSED LADY, the High Protectoress of the Christian Faith…

Note:–that the U.S.A, The Modern Version of Mother’s Day, is criticised GREATLY, for being to Commercialised…

Mother’s Day Founder–Javis, regretted the Commercialism, Javis communicated, that this was never her intention.

The Modern Holiday of Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Javis held a Memorial for her Mother, at St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Grafton, West Virginia. The church has the International Mother’s Day Shrine. Javis’s campaign to have Mother’s  Day recognised began in 1905, the Year her Mother Died. Her Mother Ann Javis, had been a Peace activist, who Cared for Wounded Soldiers, on both sides of the American Civil War, Ann Javis, also addressed public Health Issues. Anna Javis, the daughter, wanted to honour all Mothers, because she believed that a Mother, is the person who has done more for You, than anyone else in the world.

In 1911, all states observed the  Mother’s Day Holiday as a local holiday. In 1914, Woodrow Wilson, signed the proclamation designating Mother’s Day, to be  held on the Second Sunday in May, as A National Holiday to Honour Mothers…

The Commercialisation of Mother’s Day– by the 1920s, Javis believed that Companies like Hallmark Cards, had misinterpreted and exploited the idea of Mother’s Day. Which should have been, only expressed as a Sentiment, not for a Profit Celebration.

This Year, Mother’s Day in Australia falls on, Sunday, 12 May 2019-– In Australia, Mother’s Day happened through the efforts of a generous Australian Lady, who lived near Sydney, Janet Hayden. In 1924, she gave Women small gifts, this idea made her extend all this generosity, to Mother’s every where in Australia. It was the National Press who took this Novel Idea, Mother’s DAY, which is now celebrated on the Second Sunday in May, as Mother’s Day, in Australia.

It is an excellent excuse for families to get together and have a Barbecue, this is a great custom in Australia. To Eat Pavlova, a Meringue–based desert covered in Whipped cream and Fresh fruits. Or to eat Lamingtons, squares of Sponge cake, coated in Chocolate sauce and Desiccated coconut.

In conclusion to this enlightenment, on the True Meaning of Mother’s Day, it is true to say, that Mother’s Day Celebration is a Very Special and Important Day to Observe in our Lives, and in All the Cultures of the World. Our Mother’s have all Given to us the Amazing Gift of Life and Hope, that as we grow stronger and older, we also have the power and the wish to give Life and Love to our, Own Beloved Children.

I think that if we do not observe the Christian or other Faiths, or Customs in observing the Great Matrix of Life, The Holy Virgin Mary, that we can still observe, and be Highly Grateful, to what is all around us, Mother Earth, which gives and gives Abundantly, and Who will, never abandon, us, as Human Beings.
